I am addicted. This addiction has had a lot of benefits. This addiction has led to me knitting four pairs of socks for myself. This addiction has led me to knitting only to please myself. This addiction has made me cranky when anything has interfered with my knitting time. This addiction has sucked up most of the Christmas Sock knitting time. This addiction has a name – Collinette Jitterbug.
I did not think I would become addicted to Jitterbug as it had several things that annoyed me. The primary annoyance was that the skeins were light on yardage for a pair of socks. I was so annoyed by this that it was a couple of months before I wound the first skein and started a pair of socks. I was also annoyed that, because of the short yardage, I would finally be compelled to knit a pair of socks toe-up. I was annoyed that I was annoyed. I mean knitting shouldn’t be so hard.
Then I knit the first pair of socks. The colors were beautiful and the sock fit my foot like a ……. sock should. They kept my footsies toasty all winter long. In brilliant shades of lime and puce, they fought away the gray of rain and snow.
So, I pulled skein number two from the stash and began to knit pair number two. I loved the colors of pair number two in subtle shades and tone of blue. Then there was skein number three.
Oh, skein number three in the beautiful colors of Caribbean blues and aquas with splashes of clown fish swimming through. Oh, skein number three, I almost got carpel tunnel from thee.
Now I am on to skein number four in muted, deep green with lilac, periwinkle, and rose detail. I am wondering how to do the cuff. Perhaps a picot edge will work on these.
I feel sure I will have skeins five, six and seven. I need a pair for every day of the week. Like Gollum, pursuer of the Ring, I must have My Precious on my feet.

Hey Kimberly,
That sounds like awesome sock yarn! Where did you get it? I hope things are well. I miss all of you. I'm loving Northern California, but if I had one complaint it's that knit night out here just isn't the same.
I'm glad for Ravelry and for a little spare time to check in with my friends. Say hey to everyone when you see them.
Love ya,
Julie Robinson
